His Memory Lives On Thomas Dean Wozencraft was born July 27, 1945, two years after Warren. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1986. Thomas completed two tours in Vietnam. In 1988, he began serving on the George County School Board until his death on September 19, 2001 due to pancreatic cancer. During his time on the Board, he assisted in starting the ROTC program at George County High School and continued serving even after his children’s graduation.
Thomas Dean Wozencraft was married to Brenda Wozencraft, and, together, they had two children named Shawn and Tiffany Wozencraft. Shawn Lynn Wozencraft was given Warren’s middle name in honor of his late uncle. Even though Shawn was born two years after Warren’s death, in 1972, he honors his uncle memory. The Wozencraft family notes a resemblance between Shawn and Warren, in physical features and mannerisms. Thomas Dean Wozencraft referred to his son Shawn stating, “You are the best of Warren.” In 2017, Shawn Wozencraft attended a Colorado Springs reunion of the 94th Artillery. The men who had fought alongside Warren Lynn Wozencraft shared their memories and welcomed Shawn.
